Witton Derecho, winner of the inaugural British Bred Northern Plate at Newcastle in 2019, produced a litter of ten pups to Laughil Blake on October the first writes Mark Pierrepont.

Glen Lynas said: “Derecho has been the perfect mother. To think that this is her first litter and in particular having had such a large number of pups you would have been forgiven to think she might struggle a little.  Nothing could be further from the truth; she’s been absolutely perfect with them all and both she and the pups are doing outstanding well.

“We really enjoy the breeding side of things and get no bigger buzz than seeing greyhounds we’ve bred ourselves go on to do well.  The events which have been put in place by the BGBF in recent years have given us something to aim at and we hope this very much continues to be the case in future years.

“British breeding is so important to the sport and the BGBF must be funded well in order to enable them to continue the good work that the team there have been doing”.
