Happy Camper, Roxi Dem and Toottoottootsie all laid down markers for the forthcoming Pinpoint Yoirkshire St Leger in Saturday’s trial session at Doncaster.
A recent addition to the Andrew Griffiths’ kennel, Happy Camper put his new trainer in a happy frame of mind as the dog produced a clock of 42.55 in a solo over the 661 metres on going rated 30 spots slow.
However, Roxi Dem was just one pip slower in her spin and Toottoottootsie came home in 42.59.
Romantic Rambo, runner-up in last year’s final was given a 483-metre trial by trainer Kevin Cobbold and the dog acquitted himself well with a 29.83 run.
