With so much quality racing now concentrated in Dublin, we are switching the format of ‘performances of the week’ to include two Shelbourne Park winners. This week it would have been impossible to split Whoops Jack, with a 29.27 run in the Champion Stakes and dual Corn Cuchulainn winner Airmount Tess.
In the same category of performance was Heisman with a 20.94 track record for 400 yards at Dundalk. Coolavanny Sam went quickest in the Red Mills Unraced at Cork. Skywalker Manner in the heats of the Tipperary Cup at Thurles. Although Droopys Dargyl continued to impress in the Corrib Plate at Galway, the nod goes to fellow pup Cailean Fifi made it five wins from six races with the fastest 525 of the week. On the subject of pups, look out for the two Tyrur Mike, ’16 whelps with decent runs at Clonmel and Tralee.
Last but, but far from least, a fastest 525 yard run of the year to date for Bubbly Bluebird’s litter sister, Droopys Harbour. The 64lb white and blue already has 28.19 form at Shelbourne on her card and went around the Youghal 525 course in 28.61 (TR 28.54).
