You could be forgiven for thinking you are re-reading last week’s column. ‘The Ballymacs kick ass one again’
There was another stunning run from Ballymac Ariel in the Puppy Oaks at Shelbourne, a 27.96 run following a 27.94 run, the previous week. Good news for the others – she seems to be going backwards!
The same could be said for the new 600 yard sensation Ballymac Cashout – who was turned over . . . .by Ballymac Cooper. Not that he was the quickest in the Shelbourne Open 600 second round. No – that achievement went to Ballymac Kingdom who was completing a four-timer.
On Friday night, Dana Point landed the traditional ‘Premier Byproducts/Hegarty’ December marathon over the lung bursting 1,025 yards.
Elsewhere, Graham Holland picked up both semis of Tralee’s Kingdom Derby with Native Maestro the quicker of the pair. Regular readers of his Greyhound Star columns will recall his mentioning a promising young litter being schooled by, and out of, two former kennel stars. Look no further than this week’s Clonmel nomination, Silverside Skye.
Look out too for Droopys Wyatt with a fastest 550 of the year at Drumbo and Tinahue Lady for the 575 at Waterford.
