The latest Greyhound Trader online sale takes place this weekend with lots going live from 6pm this evening through to 6pm Sunday.  The online sales at www.greyhoundtrader.com have proven to be extremely popular and this latest is one of the best yet.  James Corden of Greyhound Trader said ” This is a great collection of greyhounds from young competition class puppy prospects through to more experienced proven open race performers as well as one or two for the graded scene.  I’d like to apologise to those vendors who entered greyhounds but didn’t get in on this occasion but yet again the entry was high with 61 looking for places”.  The sale is as usual previewed in full by Mark Pierrepont
UNCLE DAN –Unraced April 2022 dog pup by Ballymac Cashout and from the second litter of Skirk Grace who is a half sister to the 2019 Sussex Cup finalist and UK open race star Sidaz Jet.  Grace’s maiden litter to Droopys Sydney are winning races already with the stand out performer from the litter Malouni Jet winning on no fewer than five occasions to date including last time out in sprint open class at Lifford in a flying 1746.  Dan hasn’t put a foot wrong in his qualifying trials and showcased superb early pace in the last of which when recording a sensational 2874 at Shelbourne Park.  Undoubtedly a young pup for the open / competition class scene.
UNCLE HENESSY – Stunning blue pup who is another member of the April 2022 litter of Ballymac Cashout and Skirk Grace detailed above.  Again totally unraced and this youngster has just the one mark on his card where he recorded 2927 at Shelbourne Park.  That time is just 3 spots slower than that recorded by his brother Dan on his first look at the circuit and with him having since recorded 2874 there is every reason to believe Henessy should quickly be following in his foot steps on route to a time way below that magical 29 second barrier.  Another that is destined for the open / competition class circuit.
LOSE BULLET –Breeding doesn’t get much better than this and if this unraced May 2022 dog pups qualifying trials are anything to go by he most certainly has the ability which his bloodlines suggest he should.  A son of the fantastic Droopys Sydney out of Will She Pass an unraced daughter of Bigmans Daisy he set tongues wagging amongst all those in attendance at Shelbourne Park for his most recent trial when despite stumbling badly at the start he somehow managed to recover his stride in the style of a much older experienced greyhound to record 2912.  No doubt at all that without this stumble he would have clocked well below the 29 second barrier.  An ideal opportunity to purchase a young pup who will no doubt be a regular on the open class circuit.
SLAHENY SKY – January 2022 daughter of Broadstrand Bono out of Court Queen who has just two races on her card.  Has come storming from the back of the pack on both occasions to chase after runaway winners and looks to have an abundance of stamina in the locker.  Will no doubt benefit from a step up in trip once fully matured but with a 2947 Galway already on her CV is no devoid of pace over four bends either.  Weighing in at 71lb she’s another huge lady who should have no trouble handling herself on the track.
TWO PINTS MARY – Unraced January 2022 daughter of Ballymac Best out of Stop That Molly who recorded a more than decent 2953 at Galway in just the second trial on her card.  Definitely one for the higher grades at a minimum but at such a young age and with so much more improvement to come it’s difficult to predict exactly where she will end up.  One thing’s for sure Mary will prove to be a welcome addition to any kennel and will be winning races in the weeks and months to come.
ROAMING ROXY – Unraced June 2022 bitch pup by Newinn Session the superstar Irish track performer and finalist in the English Derby of 2021.  Roxy is from the maiden litter of the Irish open class bitch Newinn Roxy who being a daughter of Newinn Expert is closely related to a whole host of open and competition class performers including but most certainly not limited to Newinn Taylor the 2020 National Produce Stakes winner and Irish Derby Champion of the same year.  Breeding like this doesn’t come available too often and with Roxy having already recorded 2992 at Cork in the only trial to date on her card she looks all set to enjoy a successful track career before the breeding paddocks surely beckon.
STONEPARK SYD – Ready made greyhound for the competition class scene.  Already a finalist in the prestigious Champion Unraced Stake at Kilkenny early this year and more recently made the semi final of the Juvenile Derby at Shelbourne Park.  Make no mistake this September 2021 son of Droopys Sydney and Affane Beauty has pace and plenty of it.  Highlighted his top class ability in just the second race of his life beating off some of the best pups in Ireland by fully 5 lengths in a time of 2854 in the second round of the aforementioned Kilkenny Champion Unraced Stake.  This was no flash in the pan however as runs of 2844 , 2839 twice , 2831 and 2821 all coming at Shelbourne Park confirm his top class consistency.  This greyhound won’t come cheap but will attract the attention of all those looking to add a top class talent to their string.
BALLYMAC NOVA – Stunning unraced July 2022 pup from the famous Ballymac kennels.  This blue son of Ballymac Cooper and Ballymac Merkle a super strong running open class performer on the track and a daughter of the super brood Ballymac Razl.  Merkle is a proven producer of competition class greyhounds with her first litter to Ballymac Anton already performing at the highest of levels including the likes of staying sensation Ballymac Katie.  Nova won’t come into his own for months to come and given his breeding and stamina laden blood lines it’s highly unlikely we’ll see the best of this greyhound until stepped up in distance once fully matured.  All of that said he posted a smart 2953 at Tralee in the only trial on his card to date.
BALLYMAC GIZMO –Another top class prospect from the Ballymac team with this unraced July 2022 brindle son of Ballymac Cooper and Ballymac Arminta.  Gizmo simply destroyed the sole rival in the only trial on his card with a super 4 length trial win around Tralee in 2964.  Arminta is well proven in the breeding paddocks with her offspring winning open races for fun including the likes of Ballymac John this years Puppy Cup Champion at Hove and finalist in the Puppy Classic more recently at Nottingham.  There will be plenty looking to get their hands on what without any doubt is a pup of immense promise.
BALLYMAC LETTIE – Full unraced sister to Ballymac Nova detailed above and another with fantastic track and brood prospects.  A little behind her brother time wise at the moment with her posting 2992 in the only trial on her card at Tralee but similarly to Nova she can only improve for age , experience and very most likely a step up in distance once fully matured.
BALLYMAC LEGER – Competition class puppy prospect of the very highest order.  A raw August 2022 pup who can only improve massively for a long time to come yet in the very first trial of his life this son of Ballymac Kingdom and Mias Lorraine posted 2927 at Tralee beating off his sole rival by fully 13 lengths.  Anybody who knows anything about this sport will recognise the run as being that of a potential superstar.  If you’re in the market for a pup reared and schooled to the very highest of standards who has already advertised his potential then Leger could very well be the one for you.  Bidding is sure to be fierce with pups of this calibre rarely coming onto the public market.
BALLYMAC LIV –Unraced September 2022 daughter of Ballymac Cashout out of Art Of Illusion the competition class dam responsible for the likes of Ballymac Art finalist in the Irish Oaks in both 2021 and 2022.  Liv ran out an impressive 4 length winner of her only trial so far in 2970 at Tralee and looks like making into an extremely nice type both for the track and the breeding paddocks later in life.
RAPIDO LISTOL – Unraced May 2022 son of Cabra Firmino and Groupie Diva.  Stunning looking brindle pup who posted a more than decent 1938 at Shelbourne Park in the very first trial of his life but showcased that his career is very much destined to be over tougher tests of stamina than that with a super run of 2914 at Waterford on his next appearance.  Very much falls into the could be anything category with months of improvement left in the locker yet.
RAPIDO SOFIA –Unraced open class bitch pup prospect by Ballymac Bolger out of Ela Juliet.  Has made a super start to her track career with a number of eye catching performances with a 2935 trial at Shelbourne Park followed up with a 2912 effort around Waterford.  Really nice type who looks sure to win plenty of decent races on the track but even at this early stage of her career there will no doubt be one eye on her breeding prospects further down the line.
BARNFIELD BUDGET – December 2021 pup with just 3 races on his card and really set tongues wagging with a mightily impressive 6 ½ length victory at Youghal earlier this week in 2854.  He was slightly slow into stride showing that there is more yet to come but he soon paced up to take command and put the race to bed with a scintillating display of back straight pace.  A son of Droopys Sydney and Burgess Madam who of course is a full sister to the superstar bitch Killmacdonagh.  Madam is a well proven producer of open class performers including the likes of Burgess Cassie who reached the final of the Munster Oaks in 2021 and Limerick Oaks of 2022 with full sister Burgess Pippa also reaching the Munster Oaks final in the same year.  Fully schooled and will arrive with new connections all set to go straight into training.  A high class career surely beckons.
SLIPPY EDELLE – Unraced April 2022 bitch pup who looks a competition class performer in the making.  This stunning daughter of Ballymac Bolger and Ring Percilla has just the one mark on her card with a 5 length trial success at Tralee in a fantastic 2892.  Given Edelle’s breeding maybe such a run shouldn’t come as a surprise as her dam Percilla is an unraced daughter of the super brood Toms Delight and a full sister to the superstar track performer Innocent Times.  This young lady looks destined for a career at the very top of the game with bidding sure to be fierce.
GLENGAR WHELAN – Very lightly raced December 2021 son of Burgess Bucks and Dolls Lady who of course of the mother of the dog of a lifetime Ballinabola Ed.  Has yet to win in 3 starts but his time will surely arrive soon.  Quite possibly unlucky not to already be off the mark with him being beaten just over 3 lengths in 2866 at Limerick 2 runs ago despite being badly baulked as they headed onto the back straight when just about to unleash a challenge.  A credit to such a young in experienced dog that he kept going from that point on let alone to record a time such as he did.  Terrific prospect and sure to win opens for new connections with plenty of improvement left to come.
GLENGAR WILDER – Just two races on the card of this May 2022 son of Ballymac Wild and Killinan Rosie and showcased a big engine when so narrowly beaten at Lifford last time out.  Dam Rosie was the 2017 Race Of Champion winner at Tralee and is proving herself equally adept as a brood with many of her offspring competing in top grade and open class company.   Reared and schooled to perfection Wilder has plenty more to come yet.
BORN QUEENIE – Not one single mark on the card of this August 2022 daughter of Knocknaboul Syd and Scooby Dorotka who being a daughter of Mountaylor Queen makes her a half sister to the 2022 Irish Derby Champion and superstar of the sport Born Warrior.  Has been reared and schooled with nothing to spare and will arrive with her new connections ready to get straight into work but it may well be that the greatest interest lies further down the line with her bloodlines suggesting a brood career is more than a distinct possibility.
HIGH FASHION –Unraced May 2022 bitch pup who hasn’t a mark on her card.  Stunning white and black lady who is a daughter of the superstar sire Brett Lee and out of Limini the dam of amongst many other super greyhounds Jackslittlething winner of the Rural Hawaii Unraced Stake at Clonmel in 2021 and the Boylesports Champion Plate at Shelbourne Park in the same year.  Maybe his most impressive performances came throughout the Irish Derby later that year however with impressive victories in each of the first four rounds before a third place finish in the semi final of the Irish Derby saw him qualifying through to the final itself.  Finishing third again behind one of if not the greatest bitches of all time in Susie Sapphire he performed with immense credit.  High Fashion will be of huge interest to breeders with her bloodlines absolutely second to non.
HIGH FIDELITY – Full brother to High Fashion detailed above.  Not a mark on his card and will arrive with new connections fit and ready to get straight into training.  If breeding is anything to go by should make into a very nice sort indeed.
DA WORKMAN – What a prospect this unraced June 2022 son of Dromana Bucko and Million Dreams is.  Reared and schooled to be a champion at the famed set up of Brendan Matthews in Newry Da Workman went under the magical 19 second barrier in the very first sprint trial of his life at Shelbourne Park recently when stopping the clock in a magical 1889.  Weighing in at a whopping 82lb for that trial this strapping lad will be a long time until he stops improving with the best of him not likely to be seen until way into 2024.  Dam Million Dreams is a member of the May 2018 litter of Droopys Sydney and Toms Delight making her a full sister to the likes of Unlock Unlock , Love Island , Coolavanny Bani and Coolavanny Chick.  Breeding doesn’t get much better and Da Workman looks like making into a competition class performer from the very top drawer.
ROMEO HANZO – If you’re looking for a ready made experienced open racer with the added benefit of being British Bred then Hanzo could be the dog for you.  A class act with no fewer than 11 victories on his card and 10 of those have been in open class on either side of the Irish sea.  Victories at Clonmel , Shelbourne Park , Limerick and Cork in Ireland and success on UK soil at both Towcester and Swindon.  Hanzo has won from every trap bar 5 and was a quarter finalist in this years English Greyhound Derby before more recently going on to finish runner up in The Seventy Seventh British Bred Produce Stakes at Swindon behind Queen Joni.  An April 2021 whelp who showed himself in fine fettle just a couple of weeks ago with a flying 2817 victory around Cork he looks sure to give his new connections plenty of fun on the road both in British and non confined events alike.
BALLINABOLA REX – Lightly raced December 2021 half brother to the superstar Ballinabola Ed.  Rex has ran just six times competitively winning three of those including heat and semi final of a good class A3 stake at Enniscorthy before finishing a superb runner up in the final on Thursday evening this week.  He showcased a devastating burst of early and middle pace on that occasion just being picked up in the late stages going down by half a length in 2887 to the strong running Tommys Surprise.  Rex is a nice type for the UK open scene with improvement still to come he could be all set to enjoy a very decent 2024 and beyond.
KISKEAM CIAN – February 2022 son of Dorotas Wildcat and Millridge Zoey who has just the three races on his card.  After two educational efforts over the sprint at Tralee he showed that he’s well at home over the four bend trip there winning a low grade race well in 2935.  Just the type to grade in nicely here in the UK and should quickly progress through the graded system.
