This weekend sees another hugely exciting online Greyhound Trader sale with some quality greyhounds available.  Below they’re all previewed by Mark Pierrepont

Da Bold Freddie (ex – Deelish Freddie) – five-time open race winner from just 16 career starts. Put up a sensational performance in the first round of the Star Sports English Derby this year when justifying strong market support to win by 7 1/4 lengths in a top-class time of 2923. Earlier this year reached the semi final of the prestigious Juvenile Classic at Tralee and more recently was a first-round winner in the Michael Fortune Memorial Plate in another top-class time of 2956 around Shelbourne Park. A competition class greyhound of the highest order with sensational early pace and able to compete in all of the major four bend competitions here in the UK for sometime yet to come. If you’re looking to add an exciting greyhound to your kennel that you can put on the van with confidence then look no further.

Newinn Glenn – top class pup prospect weighing in for the sole race on his card at 84lb weight. A son of the super stud Droopys Sydney he showed huge early pace and middle gears on that sole start when leading for a long way only to eventually go down by 2 lengths in 2906 at Limerick. Understandable given his large frame he looked raw and green so given the still excellent time recorded there is every reason to believe that this youngster will progress into open class. Being out of the super dam Newinn Boodles ‘Glenn’ is a half sibling to some top class open and competition class performers including Newinn Sheedy finalist in the 2020 Juvenile Derby at Shelbourne Park , Newinn Tik Tok who finished runner up in both the Romford Puppy Cup and Golden Sprint in 2021 and Skywalker Stan winner of the Puppy Cup at Sunderland and finalist in the All England Cup at Newcastle in 2021. A real nice prospect for a kennel looking to add a young exciting prospect to their team.

Drumcrow Miley – unraced April 2021 bitch pup by Droopys Sydney and out of Drumcrow Blossom the dam of many open class offspring. ‘Miley’ is of course a full sister to the hugely exciting Drumcrow Mini who set a UK sales record of £16300 when purchased at the recent Oxford sale. Miley has just the one trial on her card in which she posted 2184 at Dundalk which was some 3 lengths faster than the 2208 recorded by the aforementioned ‘Mini’ on the same day. A super prospect for a number of forthcoming competitions set to be staged here in England and of course has great potential to be successful as a brood herself in the years to come.

Gaston Pecas (ex – Bobsleigh Tiger) – stunning looking blue brindle dog who has the pace and ability to match his looks. Versatile trip wise ‘Pecas’ was a massively impressive winner of the Larry O’Rourke National Produce Stakes Final at Clonmel in February this year having already showcased his ability with similarly impressive winning displays in each of the first two rounds. More recently he ran out an impressive winner of his first-round heat of the Champion Stakes at Shelbourne before being somewhat unluckily eliminated behind Vincenzo in the second round. Will compete in all the major competitions here in England and looks tailor made for the likes of Romford’s 575m and Monmore’s 630m trips. A proven quality performer who will be a very nice addition to any kennel aspiring to compete at the highest level.

Ballymac Duke – outstanding unraced August 2021 dog pup who recorded a sensational 2925 in the sole trial on his card. A son of the up-and-coming stud Ballymac Cashout who is so highly rated by Liam Dowling and out of the superstar stayer Ballymac Bonnie who has proven herself well capable of producing some top-class pups of her own. This youngster can do nothing but improve for a long time to come and looks destined to be competing in open class for his new owners. Given his breeding staying should prove to be no problem given time to mature. With all of the hard work and rearing done to the usual impeccable standards at the world famous Ballymac establishment ‘Duke’s’ new owners will have plenty to look forward to.

Ballymac Reena – unraced August 2021 bitch pup and another member of the Ballymac Cashout x Ballymac Bonnie litter. Very slowly into stride and looked very much in need of the experience when recording 3008 in the sole trial on her card. Like her brother ‘Duke’ detailed above can do nothing but improve for a long time into the future and with time should stay long distance trips. Fully expected to come on plenty over her next few runs and now could be the time to purchase this youngster before she puts up a flashy run.

Ballymac Dolce – unraced May 2021 bitch pup by Ballymac Cashout and out of the open class producing dam Dolcino Rose. On the track ‘Rose’ was a 6-time open race winner here in England and has certainly passed on that ability to many of her offspring since with many going on to win at open class themselves. ‘Dolce’ posted a promising 2969 in the sole trial on her card at Tralee despite very much looking in need of the experience.  Many lengths to find yet and another who has been reared and schooled by the top-class team at Ballymac kennels.

Kilbreedy Flyer – unraced May 2021 dog pup by Droopys Cain and from the second litter of Good Story whose maiden litter are just hitting the track and are already showing promise and winning races. Good Story of course is a daughter of the sensational competition class producing dam Precious Story whose offspring include the likes of Antigua Fire and De Machine amongst many other classy performers. ‘Flyer’ himself was a wide margin winner of the only trial on his card when stopping the clock in 2982 at Newbridge and with plenty yet to come looks set to be a real useful addition to any kennel.

Mister Peevly – unraced April 2021 dog pup by Pestana and out of the sensational open race and competition class producing dam Boleys Ace.  Serene Ace a member of the 2019 litter from Boleys Ace has been knocking on the door in top class competitions already having finished runner up in the Juvenile Derby last year and in the Gold Cup and Bar One Sprint Finals of this year.  One of the paciest greyhounds around and if Mister Peevly has inherited even the slightest amount of his older siblings pace and ability then new connections will most certainly be enjoying a fair amount of success.

Tiermana Pepper – June 2021 dog pup from the second litter of Tiermana Soda who threw plenty of winners in her maiden litter.  Soda is a full sister to the likes of Ballykett Beauty the superstar marathon performer so stamina should be no issue with ‘Pepper’. Just the one trial on his card recording 2005 over the Limerick sprint trip.  Plenty to come from this young lad.

Tiermana Dill – full sister to ‘Pepper’ detailed above.  Started off with a 1998 sprint trial Limerick and broke the 30 second barrier at the first time of asking over 4 bends with a 2989 effort at the same venue.  Again stamina looks to be no issue for this likeable young lady.

Butter The Edges – lightly raced August 2020 dog from the maiden litter of Hello Alexus who are all showing great promise on the track.  Father Eden The Kid is well known on these shores and he’s passing off plenty of his class to his pups.  Butter The Edges already a 2 time winner in Ireland with a 2897 win on just his second career start followed by a 3038 victory last time out over the tougher 550 yard trip with both victories coming at Drumbo Park.

Coolanga Rebel – got people talking when landing a huge gamble on career debut at Kilkenny winning in a fabulous 2912. Has been punished for that since by being asked some tough questions but looks just the type who will be well suited by a fresh start here in England.  Pace isn’t in question and this son of Ballymac Best and Jet Stream Venus looks sure to prove a useful addition to any kennel.

Beechwood Kate – not a single mark on this July 2021 bitch pup’s card.  A daughter of Droopys Buick and competition class producing dam Boherna Liz.  In Liz’s first litter she produced Westside Frank who recently reached the prestigious Bar One Sprint Cup Final at Dundalk.  Kate has been showing plenty of pace on the gallops at home and looks a real nice prospect with the whole of her career ahead of her
