With no sign of arch rival Jet Stream Sound, Swift Europe (Makeshift-Swift Fanta, Nov 12) gave the Swindon racing office the chance to adjust their going allowances on Wednesday.
Paul Foster’s ultra consistent black made it three wins from his last five races – the two defeats were part of a 2-2 title eliminator series with Kevin Hutton’s runner. The 4-5f covered the 509m course in 30.08 (-10). With going allowances included, Europe’s last five races over course and distance were clocked at: 29.99, 30.02, 30.06, 30.04 and 29.98.
Over the 480, Bigwood Farmer (Droopys Maldini-Slaneyside Weir, May 14) made it four wins in his last six outings. Alan McDowell’s black, who had only ever races in orange or stripes, took a first bend lead and beat Conna Huntsman by just under two lengths in 29.03 (-10).
