Luttons Andy brought the curtain down on Doncaster’s first BAGS contract when the John Windrass-trained dog finished strongly to defeat the favourite Indalo Rock in an A2 contest on Wednesday and now the racecourse awaits the verdict from the service controllers writes John Forbes.

Racing manager Mick Smith says: “Everything went well during the time we were on the betting shop service and what feedback we have had is positive. Now we have to wait until November when the details of next year’s contracts will be announced to see if we are on it.”

From next week the racecourse reverts to Friday and Saturday evening racing.
