Cork’s 525 yard track record went twice during the course of the Laurels second round before ending up in the safe keeping of the remarkable Curious Boy.
Ger Holian’s dog, who celebrates his fourth birthday in a little over three months time, is in the form of his life. His trap to line victory in 27.85 was his fourth win in his last five races, and his second track record in that sequence adding to the Tralee clock. Interestingly, the wide runner wasn’t even particularly quick into his stride but showed great early pace to win by four and a half lengths in 27.85 (+10).
Earlier in the meeting, Farloe Rumble had set a new clock of 27.92 when beating Leave At Dawn by seven and a half lengths.
