Swift Carter v Slick Seacat v Stay Loose v Southfield Jock should provide a thrilling finale to the first round of the Betfred Gymcrack which gets underway on Sunday.
The sponsors will be delighted with the overall quality of entry for the recently upgraded category one event which has attracted runners from as far apart as Newcastle and Hove.
Kinsley promoter John Curran said: “We are thrilled with the quality of entry and the calibre of trainer who have chosen to enter runners. We know that Kinsley is a challenging circuit and we were determined to give every greyhound an opportunity to trial over the Gymcrack course.
“The trainers have responded to that and in most cases have given their runners several trials. The trial times reflect the quality of entry.
“I would like to thank Betfred for their support in sponsoring the competition. They have been brilliant. When we took the event over, the winner’s planned prize money had been reduced to £3,000. We increased that to £4,000 for the first year. This year it is £8,000, which is really £9,500 given £8,000 goes to the owner, £1,000 goes directly to the trainer and another £500 to the winning breeder.”
