Ian Smyth, the track controller for Crayford, Hove, Monmore and Romford has confirmed that his company is to pay an £1 per dog, per day, to trainers to assist during the Coronavirus outbreak.

The funding will be in addition to the GBGB pledged offer.

Smyth said: “It is for all dogs in the kennel, not just racers. Looking to support those independent ‘retireds’ who are  in danger of being forgotten about.”

We also understand, and are waiting to confirm, that Kinsley have also pledged an additional 50 pence per day for their runners.

Meanwhile, Henlow trainers have reacted to Kevin Boothby’s offer, revealed yesterday, of £5 per week for all local runners.
