Bubbly Time landed her 13th open race of the year when successful in the £2,500 to the winner J.B. Riney MBE Boxing Day Marathon over 874 metres at Crayford on Saturday.

Tony Gifkins’ bitch went to traps a 7-4 chance as money poured on the favourite Droopys Tamera at 4-5.

However her chance wasn’t helped by a missed break and early crowding and she eventually finished fourth.

Up front John Mullins’ Kent Cesarewitch winner Dashing Star led for one lap but was passed by Bubbly Time who went on to beat a gallant 25-1 outsider Diesel Flo by two and a half lengths in 56.61sec.

Bubbly Time must be a strong contender to get a nomination as marathon greyhound of the year at the GBGB awards.
