The winning time might have been the slowest for a year, but Jet Stream Bound (Razldazl George-Southest Lazey, Apr 13) kept up her amazingly consistent spell with a win over Swindon’s 685m course.

The Pete Swadden trained dark brindle flashed clear from the boxes and never gave the opposition a sniff. The 8-11f eventually got home with more than three lengths to spare over Creative Thinker in 43.50. The rain sodden track was assessed as being 1.80 slow. In an extended run going back to last August, the dual distances bitch has raced 23 times for a tricast place including six wins.

Over 509 though Bog Brae was unable to complete his open race hat-trick when failing to get on terms with Sky Dancer (Kinloch Brae-Kitty Spark, Jun 13). Joe Green’s 10-1 shot seized the initiative and held off the favourite throughout for a 31.16 (-110 victory.

SWINDONA4 REST JAN & FEBBut Paul Sallis seldom makes a fruitless trip to Wiltshire and his winner this time was Embers Fury (Kinloch Brae-Mums Ivy, Jan 14) who returned at 5-4f when beating Jet Stream Flash by nearly four lengths in 29.81 (-80) for 480 metres.

On a good night for punters, the dog described by the Swindon grader as his ‘480 track champion’, Dedi Diddle Dum (Ace Hi Rumble-Vigilant Amy, Jul 12) only justified his 5-4 SP with a short black nosed win over Moreton Volare in 29.77 (-90) over the standard.

Swindon continue their Wednesday night open schedule throughout the spring. Next Wednesday’s card will include opens over all four distances – entries close at noon on Saturday noon.
