The BGBF British Bred Derby semi-finals take place at Sheffield’s Owlerton stadium this evening.
Semi-final 1 at 636pm can go to Kevin Hutton and his Signet Otis. I fancy him to ping out and make all with Kim Gooding’s Shockwave Onyx and Jimmy Gaskin’s Bernard fighting it out for the second qualifying place in next week’s final.
Semi-final 2 at 651pm looks a matchup between Kevin Hutton’s Boca Junior and Fabulous Azzurra. The pair look set to fill the qualifying positions but I’m siding with ‘Junior’ to land the spoils with the suspicion he may just be a little hardier in a close finish.
Semi-final 3 at 709pm can go to Patricia Cowdrill’s 2020 champion Elderberry Sky. He should be much sharper for last week’s heat second to Shockwave Onyx and is fancied to win well here.
