DROOPYS STEPH is making an excellent recovery from a serious injury at Kinsley writes John Forbes.
Formerly trained by Dean Childs, the December 2011 daughter of Dukes Special and Droopys Laramie was bought by Mark Siddall last summer, but disaster struck on her fourth outing for the Rotherham-based handler.
A bad muscle injury put her on the sidelines for five months and when she started on the comeback trail is was in modest A7 company in West Yorkshire, but she won well and followed up with another success in A6, going on to complete a hat-trick in A5 on Saturday.
Siddall is delighted with the way Droopys Steph is progressing but is not getting carried away, saying” She tore a gracilis muscle and it has been a long road back. She is progressing nice and steady at the moment, but she was an open class bitch and it is a case of waiting to see how good she really comes back. We will not see the best of her, however, until she goes over a bit further as that is what she is all about.”
