Trainer Anne Kirby sends out 18 of the 40 graded runners at Harlow on Saturday. The meeting also features two opens where Maurice Newman’s Big Pay Off will be looking to extend his winning sequence to six.

Oscasupreme became the first greyhound to win under Peterborough’s new ‘A’ ratings for four bend races when landing a top grade race on Wednesday.

While the track changed over from 420 to 435 metres they used ‘B’ ratings for the new trip, but now the transformation has been completed (It took over two years!) they have opted to return to the usual ‘A’ rankings.

Richard Devenish’s Oscasupreme led off the second turn to beat Fanore Smokey by two lengths in 26.34sec. Devenish had an A1 double when litter brother Glatton Supreme came late to deny Farley Max by a length in 26.28sec. Both runners are from the same litter as the kennel’s Romany Rouge, who runs in the third round of the William Hill Greyhound Derby at Wimbledon on Saturday.

The Nigel Saunders-trained Slaheny Kate is a lady very much on the way up at Belle Vue. The June 2013 bitch by Makeshift out of Farranrory Fay was racing in A4 at the beginning of May, but victories in that grade, A3 and then A2 completed a very merry month of May for her and she took the form into June completing a four-timer in Manchester on Friday with another A2 success in a calculated 29.74 (-10) for the 470 metres.
