Greyhound folk are climbing into the saddle to raise money for worthy causes over the next few days writes Floyd Amphlett.

On Saturday, Monmore’s Matt Nicholls will be riding from Crayford to Monmore – a total of 160 miles on a journey that will probably take around 14 hours.

He is looking to raise £3,500 for Ward 8 at the Birminham Childrens Hospital (specialising in liver and small bowel problems). Matt has already passed the £3,000 mark for this amazing cause. For more details go to http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Crayfordtomonmore

Or you can contact Matt direct on 01902 456663/07429938840 or [email protected]

The following day 15 cyclists will be taking part in the Prudential Ride London raising funds for the RGT.

The teams are listed below.

Ride 100

Mark Arkell (Romford)
Carolyn Clegg
George Sell
Jon Everett

Mens Peloton Team

Lee Jordan (owned Kinda Ready) (100)
Danny Welch (75)
Damien Wiffin (50)
Tom Huntley (25) (GBGB)

Mixed Peloton Team 1

Zoe Capstick (100)
Mark Burridge (75)
Coralie Hurst (50)  (Romford)
Paul Millward (25) (Tour de France 2018 Yellow Jersey)

Mixed Peloton Team 2

Martyn Wiley (100) (Romford)
Louise Alder (75)
Emma King (25) (Tony Bullen’s better half)

While all are worthy participants, the one rider whose lungs you would least want in a transplant is Paul Millward. The BAGS webmaster is only scheduled for 25 miles, but prior to his boot camp training, his greatest exercise was stubbing out his fags.

All cash raised will go to the RGT, less the price of a nicotine stained bodybag.
