Holden Commanche went quickest in the Caffreys Puppy Classic Trial Stakes over 500 metres at Nottingham on Monday.

Carol Weatherall’s runner slipped through at the opening turn to eventually hold Fred The Shred by three quarters of a length in 30.12sec.

Tony Gifkins’ Coolavanny Bisto missed much of the trouble in the opening trial stakes to beat early leader Sunbeam Dreams by three and a half lengths in 30.31sec.

Charlie Lister had both winners of the Betfred 480 Trophy with Fast Fit Lexus and Golden Apple. Fast Fit Lexus led and came again to beat kennelmate Johnny Vivaro in heat two by almost two lengths in 28.64sec. British Breeders Stakes runner-up Golden Apple got the better of a battle with Caribbean Trixie by a neck in heat one to clock 28.99sec.

Lister was also on the mark with Rafa Wee Jet in the Reverse Duel Distance Trophy Final over 480 metres. The son of Kinloch Brae blasted clear and went on to beat Express Master by two lengths in 28.43sec.

Elwick Glory clocked the fastest time of the year over 680 metres. Colin Reddan’s bitch took up the running at the third turn and went on to beat Onceco Melissa by five and a half lengths in 41.21sec.

 

Roxholme Hottie went quickest in trials before racing over 500 metres. Hayley Keightley’s runner beat Loop The Loop by just over four lengths in 29.81sec.
