Newinn Yolo clocked 17.04 (-10) in his second comeback trial at Newcastle (290m) though his participation in the Racing Post Juvenile is in doubt.
Trainer Pat Rosney said: “I have to be pleased with that run. With the going allowance, he has found a length on his first run and I don’t think there is any doubt that the track was slow.
“I’ll be looking to give him a couple of ‘480s’ before deciding whether to go to Wimbledon but I am concerned that he might be a bit rushed.
“The Juvenile is sure to have a quality field and I need to be convinced that he is ‘race fit’ instead of just ‘trial fit’. It is four months since he last raced.
“I will still probably put him forward, because you can always withdraw if you aren’t happy with the preparation.
“I will also put Swift Hoffman forward. He runs at Monmore tomorrow, though I would want to see him come on a bit since his first race at Newcastle last week.”
Kennelmate Vatican Baloteli recorded 29.02 (-20) over the Newcastle 480 trip, also this afternoon.
Rosney said: “Don’t read too much into the time. He stumbled after coming out of the boxes as proved by his sectional of 4.81, compared to his previous of 4.68.
“He actually recorded exactly the same time over the full distance so he has really improved about a length and a half.”
