Multiple Category One winner King Turbo, who won the Coral Greyhound Olympic at Hove at the end of December, had his second sprint trial at the track on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming Coral Winter Derby, which starts on 21 February.
Steering a middle course, Liz McNair’s runner stopped the clock in a calculated 16.15sec for the 285 metres course, which was five spots better than his previous spin the week before. Kennelmate King Elvis returned a calculated 16.18sec while Seamus Cahill’s Sporting Dave produced an identical time in the following trial.
Over the 490 metres Winter Derby trip, Clash went particularly well when crossing the line in 28.54sec on going estimated -20, while Black Zack went round in 28.67sec.
