Golden Jacket Deadline Day – Entries Close At NOON

‘Defending Champ Sally entered but main aim this year is the TV Trophy’

Entries for the £20,000 to the winner category one Premier Greyhound Racing Golden Jacket close today at NOON.  A high quality entry is expected as usual and Bellmore Sally who has won the competition for the past two years is already in the book.  Trainer Jimmy Fenwick told the Greyhound Star “Sally seems to have lost a little bit of her early zip over the first four bends this year but to counter that she definitely seems to be staying stronger.  We’ve got to go for the Jacket she obviously loves it around Crayford and deserves her chance to make it three in a row.  That said her main aim this year will be the TV Trophy at Oxford and I’m really hopeful she’ll go well there all being well”.

*The draw and full form for the Golden Jacket will published once made available from the track.

They take time to settle, don’t they?

Hang On Mart trained by Peter Harnden and owned by Lee Pitman was retired recently after an achilles tendon injury.  Having only arrived at her new residence a few days ago  Peter explained “Queenie as we know her is a lovely bitch who at her best won a Maiden six bend open at Monmore.  There was not much doubt in my mind that she’d make a great pet but even I must admit some slight surprise at how quickly she’s settled into her new home.  Queenie has gone to retire with a lovely couple who have homed from us previously and I’m sure she’ll have a great time with them even though I know she’ll miss her racing greatly”.

Romford Owner Benefits

Owners often complain about not feeling wanted or appreciated at some tracks however that can’t be said of Romford where they very much appear to be leading the way and showcasing how owners should be treated.
