Calco Flyer completed a 392-1 five timer for Mark Wallis in the heats of the January Standard over 480 metres at Towcester.
The son of Blonde Snapper, an 11-4 chance, led and came again in the third heat to beat Fernhill Dusk in 28.60sec, the fastest time of the night.
Evanta El Greco, a 6-1 chance, led early in the opening qualifier to beat the unlucky Martin White trained odds-on favourite Killglen Chief by half a length in 28.74sec.
Pam Dolby’s Mays Musicbox was a shock 16-1 winner of the second qualifier when getting to the front at the opening turn and beating Van Frankie by almost two lengths in 28.63sec.
Wallis’s Vanrooney (4-6) was an easy winner over 686 metres when pulling clear from the opening turn to slam Jet Stream Lilly by over six lengths in 41.69sec.
Wallis’s other winners were Vanayamzaman (7-2) who made all in the Yan Photography Sprint (260m) to score in 15.68sec, while Black Francis (evens) made most in the Towcester tote only 18% Retention Stakes (655m) to record 39.93sec.
