Diegos Flight went quickest in the heats of the Red Mills / Track Supporters Club Open Unraced Stake over 525 yards at Clonmel, an event which has seen many star names make their racing debuts in the past.

Paul Ryan’s March 13 son of College Causeway led from start to finish to see off Piercestown Shay by two lengths in 29.01sec on a track seemingly slower than the official estimate of -20.

Sean Bourke’s Mustang Racy went almost as quick in the sixth heat when taking an early lead to slam Highview Craft by seven lengths in 29.02sec.

Dolores Ruth had a double when her Razldazl Fionn and Razldazl Oisin (Razldazl Jayfkay-Dundooan Diva, Mar 13) were successful in heats two and three.

Fionn overcame a bumpy ride to score a five and a half length victory in 29.47, while litter brother Oisin also came a cropper at the opening turn after a slow start but powered home to score comfortably in 29.32sec. Both should improve for the experience.

Ray Paterson’s Skywalker Glory led form the opening bend in the fourth heat to beat Ballydoyle Honey in 29.22.

John Linehan’s Droopys Ford came powering through his rivals in the opening qualifier by five lengths in 29.11sec.

Other winners were Denis Murphy’s Calloway Woods in 29.47 and Graham Holland’s Riverside Gold in 29.67sec.
