Sidarian Vega landed his second major race of the year with success in the Doire Construction Champion Stakes over 550 yards at Shelbourne Park.
Graham Holland’s runner, who landed the Juvenile Classic at Tralee earlier this year, got away to a flying start and led up from the outsider Budgie Bypass and Laurels winner Midtown Raffa.
The 2-1 joint favourite went clear down the far side and came home two and a half lengths clear in 29.64sec.
Paul Hennessy’s Budgie Bypass was challenged for the runner-up spot by Paradise Maverick down the home straight but clung on by three quarters of a length.
There was a faster performance in the Doire Construction Site Clearance 550 when Produce Stakes finalist Ballybough Mike led from start to finish to beat Fair Taxes by three lengths in 29.47sec.
