Droopys Verve is the big name on Monmore’s Autumn Festival Card tonight.
Angela Harrison’s runner first made his name at the Wolverhampton venue when runner-up to Rising Brandy in last year’s Ladbrokes Puppy Derby.
Shortly after he was runner-up to Dorotas Wildcat in the English Derby and then won the Dundalk International and All England Cup.
This year he reached the final of the Scottish Derby at Shawfield and made the third round of the English Derby at Nottingham. He hasn’t raced since being knocked over in the Select Stakes there.
The son of Loughteen Blanco has run three fast sprint trials and will go off at short odds to beat local favourite Ballymac Miscula and Lenson Whelan.
