Droopys Hunch clocked the fastest time in the second round of the Dublin Coach Juvenile Derby over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park on Friday.

Murt Leahy’s bitch who won two rounds of the Derby led at the third turn in heat four to hold Broadstrand Bono by three and a half lengths in 28.16sec.

There were a few shocks with Ballymac Cooper(1-3), Patterdale Greg (1-2) and Skywalker Canny (1-2) being beaten.

Ballymac Cooper never got going and was well beaten by all the way winner Antigua Boy who scored by four lengths in 28.16sec.

Patterdale Greg was the 1-2 favourite for the opener but stumbled at the start.  It was left to Graham Holland’s flying finisher Clonbrien Flash to deny Go On Jacko by a head in 28.69sec.

Skywalker Canny failed by half a length to catch an out and gone Jaytee Storm, who scored for Paul Hennessy in 28.37sec.

Battle Cry provided Paul Hennessy with a double in heat six when getting up close home to beat Ballymac Howard by a length and a half in 28.42sec.

Pat Buckley’s Brinkleys Kid produced an amazing burst of pace from traps in heat two to go well clear before holding the late surge of Deanridge Sirius by a head in 28.21sec.

Newline Darn Hot justified 4-6 favouritism for Robert Gleeson in heat three by making all to account for Razldazl Monarch by three and a half lengths in 28.26sec.

Texacloth Finalist Glenlara Ace led and came again in heat five to deny Knocknarea Run by two and a half lengths in 28.45sec.
