With the 70th Swindon Produce Stakes due to close at noon on Tuesday, it remains unclear whether a qualifying trial session will be required.

The event is limited to 72 first round runners and thus far there are 34 already signed up with over 50 potential entries due to trial on Tuesday morning. If the entry limit is passed, all runners will need to trial on Tuesday July 5 prior to the first round, four nights later.

The final of the £15K to winner event – total prize money for the final, including breeder’s prizes is £28K – takes place on Saturday July 23.

Previous winners of the event at Swindon include Robbie De Niro, Westmead Joe, Romeo Expert, Micky Robbie, and Take The Crown. Among the earliest winner of the British bred event, when it was held at Eastville Bristol, included Derby winner Narrogar Ann.
