Following criticism of their starting traps, Towcester plan to replace their 500 metre boxes by Sunday May 2 in time for the start of the KAB Maiden Derby two days later.
Track spokesman Nathan Corden said: “Kevin (Boothby) is determined that every trainer should be happy running their dog here. We have the old starting traps from Peterborough which will be entirely refurbished with new rams before we introduce them – hence the delay.”
