With the 10pm curfew making evening racing less attractive/lucrative, Towcester have landed a betting shop fixture on Saturday afternoons replacing Henlow from October 31.

Promoter Kevin Boothby said: “It is great news for the owners and trainers. We can get 450 people in complying with all the local authority restrictions. We will be opening the restaurants and I think we can develop a great atmosphere with some high quality open and graded racing. This decision has been taken by the company to protect  jobs and at Towcester we can open for 450 people in a Covid secure place due to the size of the racecourse.”

Henlow will resume the fixture from January 2021.
