WHAT time will the winner of Saturday’s Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile Derby clock?

That is the question posed once again by the sponsors of the €25,000-to-the-winner youngsters’ showpiece which takes centre-stage at Shelbourne Park on Saturday and will be broadcast live on SIS and RPGTV/SportyStuff TV.

They are offering €500 of Time Greyhound Food to anyone who correctly predicts the correct time and the winning trap in the Juvenile Derby Final, a race won by subsequent English Derby finalist and Towcester track record holder Clona Duke.

Graham Holland’s dog also landed the Select Stakes double this year with victories in the Time-backed Irish version at Waterford before lifting the JenningsBet Select Stakes at Nottingham – so this year’s Juvenile Derby winner has big shoes to fill!

Willie Rigney, who launched Time earlier this year with his business partner John Fox, is looking forward to Saturday’s big race at the Dublin venue and says the competition to name the winning trap and winning time is already proving popular.

He said: “It goes down well among trainers and owners with the other competitions we do and the early indications are we’ll beat the number of entries this year. It’s easy to enter. Just go to our website www.timenutrition.ie or scan the code on the advert.

“It’s something different – a bit of fun, maybe – and surely worth an educated guess!”

Rigney has been delighted with the overall quality of this year’s Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile Derby and is looking forward to Saturday’s final which brings together six of the most talented youngsters in Ireland going for gold.

“As ever there’s been one or two hard luck stories, but we’ve got a brilliant final to look forward too. Droopys Flytline has been posting some fantastic clocks for Robert Gleeson and its fair to say is the one to beat – he handled trap six well in the semis.

“But it’s a good field he must beat and good luck to the connections of all the runners in the final – and on the supporting. It’s another brilliant Saturday card at Shelbourne.”
