Paul Sallis might have been two wins closer but for being ‘double photoed’ by Stuart Buckland on the night. Inch Forward (Hondo Black-Supreme French, Aug 14) seemed well named when turning over Blue Majestic by a short head in 38.60 (-30) for the 630 metres. Two races later respective kennelmates Fabulous Recruit (Romeo Recruit-Fabulous Adele, Oct 14) headed Chamberlain Zara in 38.64 (-30).
The performance of the night though belonged to the in-form John Lambe’s Autumn Fluent (Moes Tavern-Shanless Carol, Jun 15) with a 28.34 victory.
La Brava is the track’s most prolific open race winner in the year with six victories
