Whatever happens at Romford on Friday night, or Sheffield next Tuesday, Rab McNair believes the decision to simultaneously run King Dylan and King Lennon in the Coral Essex Vase and BGBF Britsh Bred Derby has already been vindicated.
The McNair kennel landed all three semi finals of the Sheffield event on Tuesday night. There was only one spot between Dylan and Lennon with King Sheeran completing the treble. Dylan and Lennon are due to contest the Vase finale at Romford on Friday.
The following morning assistant trainer Rab said: “These dogs are in the form of their lives. When we went to the kennel at 5am this morning to take the bitches to Swindon, both Dylan and Lennon were standing at their kennels ready to go. They were in better shape than I was.
“I haven’t given any thought to either Friday’s final or next at Sheffield. But whatever happens, I am satisfied that we made the right decision.”
It was be a ‘family final’ with John Sharp’s litter brothers Sharpys Pluto and Sharpys Rocket also reaching the decider with Martin Cutler’s Russelena Bowwow.
