Following an investigation by GBGB, Kenton Ten has been deemed eligible to contest the final of the Coral Golden Sprint on the 13th March 2020.

It has become apparent that the dog was not qualified under GBGB Rule 44 when it won the semi-final on Friday 6th March at Romford because it had taken part in a handslip trial at Central Park on 3rd March 2020.

Permission for the dog to take part in the trial had been given in error by a GBGB staff member following a request from the dog’s trainer.

GBGB accepts that this was an unfortunate but innocent mistake with no malicious intent nor deliberate attempt to break the rules or seek advantage.

Instances of greyhounds trialling between rounds of an event are highly unusual but GBGB accepts full responsibility for allowing the flat handslip to take place.
