The Kim Taylor trained British bred went to traps on 20 occasions and finished with a record of: 1st-9, 2nd-6 including open wins over 428m and 460m where he has a personal best of 27.59 (+10).

 

Hall Green veteran Absinthe (Hondo Black-Tiny Light, Apr ’09), who was racing before any of her recent opposition were born, completed an A7/A5 double for Angie Kibble on Tuesday.

With almost 150 races on the clock, the 23 kilo black has survived longer than either of her previous two graded homes, Oxford and Coventry.

 

Do It For Twiggy (Droopys Scolari-Rackethall Holly, Oct 12) returned to Yarmouth in a blaze of glory on Monday night when clocking the fastest time of the year. The former local runner returned from a spell with Mark Wallis and was contesting only his second race for Erica Samuels when clocking 27.62 for the 462 metres. (Last year’s East Anglian Derby Final was won by Swift Keith in 27.81)

 

Chaotic Dotty, who has been mopping up opens at Perry Barr over six bends has broken in season. The daughter of Southlodge Turk, who is owned by Nick Hendy and trained by Carla Hendy, broke the 710 metre track record in May and landed a 660 metre open last week.

 

Geelo Vegas, who has been enjoying a short break since his defeat in the Derby semi-final at Wimbledon, showed that he had not lost his edge through stepping up to four bends in the classic when he was given a solo 280-metre spin at Sheffield yesterday by trainer Carl Perry.

The 2014 Sprinter of the Year went round in an excellent clock of 15.85 and his preparation will continue at Owlerton for his next target which is BresMed Northern Sprint, sponsored by his owner Nic Brereton, which gets under way on Tuesday, July 21.
