Tonight’s meeting features the Ladbrokes Gold Collar but first a quick review of the East Anglian Derby Final meeting.

Tony Johnston (bookies) came into the meeting as the Lionel Messi of tipsters and departed as the Joey Barton with both selections defeated Net loss £100.

Kevin ‘Savana’ Boothby (owners) went for All About Class (beaten) and Meadow in singles and doubles and came out with a 7-4 winner to £40 – Net profit £10.

Darrell Williams (media) tipped three: Idle Talker and Hiya Butt were beaten, but each way fancy My Little Jimbo (2nd 8-1) resulted in Net loss £50

Kevin Hutton (trainers) knew his fate as soon as Forest Chunk missed his cupboards and Kev’s full stake went into the satchel Net loss £100.

Clearly a shake-up was needed . . .

Coming in to represent the owners is the Chairman of the Romford Owners Association Paul Binks. Representing trainers for the first time is the man sending out so many winner from Henlow, notably Savana Donie and Russelena Reggie – Jason Bloomfield.

Stepping up for the bookies for the first time is Yarmouth layer Chris Trois while the media role sees some potential office rivalry with Chris Oliver hoping to fare better than colleague Matt Salter. (Which is a bit like Eddie the Eagle handing you his skis)

The rules remain unchanged – the placing of a fictional £100 on the SKY card, singles or multiples. We quote early prices, but make winning calculations based on SP (since the early prices may be spread across different firms).

Full form is below tips

Chris Trois (Bookmakers)

7.11 – Jimbobjoe: This selection is based on my knowledge of the two Yarmouth dogs, in traps two and six and leads me to desert them in favour of the sole railer.

7:43 – Karlow Turbo: I’ll side with Turbo to lay handy in what appears a match with Garryglass Champ.

8:33 – Slippy Maska should only have to repeat her first round performance in the Cesarwitch to oblige for Hazel Kemp

9:08 – Bubbly McCoy Paul Young didn’t have any joy in the big one at Yarmouth last week but his Bubbly McCoy looks the classiest in the Gold Collar final against in form local bitch Mayshighreel. He can pop out and lead on the rails.

PUNTING: 4 x £15 trebles on Jimbobjoe (4-1) , Karlow Turbo (11-10) and Slippy Maska (5-4) , a £20 treble on Karlow Turbo, Slippy Maska and Bubbly McCoy (3-1) and a £20 accumulator

Paul Binks (Owners)

I have remained loyal to Romford for my punters challenge and decided on

7:26 – Chopchop Hope: has been flying around Romford this summer for Yvonne Gaskin and Colin Moye the owner. If she can repeat the sectional from her trial at the track I think my NAP will lead them out wide and go on to win well.
9:08 -Mayshighlandreel: Something seems to have clicked with Mayshighlandreel following her impressive win at Romford recently and if she traps out in front I don’t see her getting picked up.

PUNTING: £50 win Chopchop Hope (3-1), and £50 double with Mayslighlandreel (11-4)

Chris Oliver (Media)

8.16 – Zenas Treacle: Went a long way clear in the heats of the Kent Cesarewitch before running out of gas late on and could be a real force over this shorter 714m distance. She can steal a march again in this maiden and prove tough to peg back now over a more suitable trip..

8:33 Slippy Maska – It was hard not to be impressed by the way she powered home to win in fine style in the heats, loving every yard of this 874m trip, and should be very hard to deny in the final as she looks to improve her already impressive strike-rate at Crayford..

9:08 – Oakfield CaesarBrings an unbeaten record in the event to the table and has been handed a love make-up as the sole wide seed, with crowding on the inside looking very possible.  He is capable of getting first run in stripes and will take some catching if doing so

PUNTING: £25 win Trixie: Zenas Treacle (3-1Slippy Maska (5-4)  Oakfield Caesar (5-1)

Jason Bloomfield (Trainer)

8:51 – Wildfire Blossom: I think she looks well drawn and can lead up trap one but can hold off those on her outside as she gets to the first bend.

9:08 – Oakfield Caesar: He looks very well drawn, has good early pace and should get a clear run, particularly if Mayshighlandreel moves across to rails.

PUNTING: 2 x £50 win singles Wildfire Blossom (5-1) & Oakfield Caesar (5-1)
