Scooby The Star justified favouritism in the scrappy Track Supporters Club Munster Derby over 525 yards at Clonmel on Sunday. Frances O’Donnell’s 7-4 shot went down on his nose at the start and was only fourth at the opening turn as the pace was cut out by Knockbrogan King and Movealong Luke.
The pair disputed the lead until the last turn when Scooby The Star got a dream run up the rail and got up on the line to beat Movealong Luke by a neck in 28.84sec. Gwan Slab was a further half length back in third.
