Liam Dowling unearthed another exciting prospect in Ballymac Scala who was quickest in the Roseanne McIllone Memorial Unraced Bitch Stake over 525 yards at Clonmel on Sunday.

The December 13 daughter of Ballymac Vic was soon clear and went on to beat Clever Lass by three lengths in 28.75sec.

The time was easily the best of the round. Drive On Gypsy clocked 29.25sec in heat two, Droopys Etoile did 29.31sec in heat one, with Heavens Lilly doing 29.16sec in heat four.

The main event on Sunday’s card was the Larry O’Rourke Munster Cup over 525 yards and Sound Investment proved a good bet in heat two.

Nick Turner’s runner was soon clear to beat Newlawn Luke by four lengths in 28.78sec.

Brendan O’Shea’s Crossfield Molly led from start to finish in the opening qualifier to beat Amanita Chic by half a length in 28.98sec.

Chic’s trainer Liam Dowling had better luck with Ballymac Belle in heat three when made all the running to beat Trade Eoin by three lengths in 28.83sec.

Dolores Ruth’s Razldazl Rince landed a scrappy heat four in 29.48sec.
