Hayley Keightley has been forced to shelve her East Anglian Derby options with Target Harris but hopes to participate on final night (Sept 16).
Assistant trainer Mark said: “We’ve had a couple of minor setbacks which mean we won’t be able to take part. But we hope to have Target Harris and Roxholme Magic available on final night.”
In the meantime, Keightley thinks Roxholme Dream is one run away from being back to her best following a seasonal break.
He said: “It was only four bends but she was still flattening out in every race at Towcester. But she will be 17 weeks out of season on Thursday for the opening round of the Brighton Belle. On the draw, I would have preferred her drawn a bit further out, but God willing she gets through, she should be as good as she can be for the semis.”
Meanwhile Dream’s vanquisher at Towcester, Forest Twilight, is temporarily on the sidelines.
Keightley added: “She finished with a very minor injury at the top of her shoulder. It is nothing serious, ten days, but enough to stop us considering anything else immediately.
“Looking ahead, we are cautiously considering the option of the Kent Derby at Sittingbourne.”
