Pat Rosney looks to have the “dream team” for the RPGTV Scottish Derby following Saturday night’s trial session at Shawfield. Swift Hoffman set the bar high when he flew round the 480 metres in Glasgow in a clock of 28.78, just twelve spots outside the record, but then kennelmate manage to upstage that with a 28.76 effort.
The Leyland trainer commented: “Obviously we are very pleased with those runs. Whatever happens from here on in we known that they are going into the competition in the best possible shape and we just hope that they can take that trial form into the race.”
The next best times came from the Irish raiding party with Pat Cronin’s Tynwald Rodney, going round in 29.04 and Save The Don from Fraser Black’s kennel, stopping the clock at 29.14.
