Droopys Clue took a length off his own track record with another hugely impressive performance in the Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby.

Led up by the Hunt Cup runner-up King Ezra, the Seamus Cahill trained St.Leger winner went clear off the second bend on his way to a 28.83 run.

The opening heat was marred by trouble. With Churchfield Syd already in command, Asbo Lenny moved off going into the first bend, badly hamping Slick Sabo who then cannoned into the unfortunate Droopys Prymtime and Borna Hero who was KO’d.

The second qualifier went to the 2022 St Leger winner Havana Lover who skipped clear at the bend after a fast break and then beneifitted from trouble on her inside. Her winning time ws 29.17.

Final draw: 1) Romeo Command, 2) King Ezra, 3) Asbo Lenny, 4) Droopys Clue, 5) Churchfield Syd (W) 6) Havana Lover (W)
