Romantic Rambo caused the upset of the night at Doncaster on Saturday when he turned the tables on his nemesis Millwards Teddy to land the second semi-final of the Pinpoint Yorkshire St Leger.
It looked as though it was going to be the same old story as Millwards Teddy raced into an early lead, but Romantic Rambo bided his time and then produced a strong finish to grab the victory by a head in 41.44 for the 661 metres.
Romany Rogue started favourite for the first semi, but he also had to settle for second best as the Russ Warren-trained Sheffield raider Swift Curie held his late effort by threequarters of a length in 41.62.
