Carl Perry enjoyed his first graded winner at Sheffield on Saturday as Geelo Fancy landed an A1 nicely in 28.81 for the 500 metres.
The Geelo Racing team had enjoyed plenty of success in open races at the past, but this was a bit special for the Lincolnshire-based trainer, who said: “It’s very pleasing to get that particular monkey off our backs and although we didn’t get home until gone 1am it was a happy journey home knowing we had that winner in the van.
“We are settling in nicely at Sheffield. To be fair they have always been good to us, very supportive, and the only difference now is that we are attached to the track. It is the perfect match for us.”
