Based on semi final form, one length covers four runners in the final on next week’s £7,500 BGBF British Bred Northern Plate Final at Newcastle
Heather Dimmock’s beaten Produce Stakes favourite Down To The Felt had a one spot advantage over Jill Sutherst’s Sunderland raider Witton Derecho with King Turbo, chasing his sixth Cat One final, marginally slower in the first qualifier.
The draw worked out as following: 1) King Turbo, 2) Witton Derecho, 3) Bellebob Zuri, 4) Colliery Billy, 5) King Lennon, 6) Down To The Felt.
Micky Patterson from the Newcastle racing office said: “It has been good to see three southern dogs make the final after making the effort to take part. Overall, it is a very decent quality final.
“The draw isn’t ideal. A lot will depend on whether one and two tangle on the run-up. You would have to say that King Turbo is the class dog in the race, but if Witton Derecho tangles with him, they could definitely get in each other’s way.
“So you would think that on the balance of getting a clear run, the fancy would probably be Down To The Felt.”
