Entain Director of Stadia Ian Smyth has announced changes to the schedule at his four tracks in November around fireworks weekend.
He said: “None of our tracks will race on the evening of November 5th. This means that the Saturday evening meetings scheduled for Crayford, Hove, Monmore & Romford will all be cancelled. We do not see ourselves racing on the evening of November 5th at any stage in the future and this will become a permanent position for our tracks.
“In addition, we will also be moving the traditional Romford Friday evening meeting scheduled this year for November 4th. It has become clear in the last two years that a small number of our neighbours are intent on causing disruption and as such we will be swapping fixtures between Monmore & Romford.
“Romford will now race on the evening of Thursday November 3rd & the afternoon of Friday November 4th. It is likely the Thursday card will be a graded one but we will review that nearer the time. Monmore will race on the afternoon of Thursday November 3rd & on the evening of Friday November 4th. Monmore is not situated in a residential area and we do not envisage any concerns with fireworks on the Friday evening.”
