Monmore’s owners representatives have voted for their dog and bitch of the year for 2015.

Top dog is the Moss Lane Syndicate’s Oleg (Makeshift-Heroes Last Lass, Apr 13). A truly versatile performer, the Ken Bebbington trained white and brindle was successful over 480 and 630 metres. He won both A1s, S1s and opens from a tally of 11 wins and a similar number of seconds from 36 races.

The top bitch was Well Jean (Ace Hi Rumble-Precious Story, Apr 13) owned by Mr SM Fuller and trained by Sandra Ralph. Successful all the way from A9 to A2, she was the most prolific winner of the track during the year with 12 wins in 34 races and made a tricast position in an incredible 68% of her races,

The January Dog of the Year was Knockroe Mill (Minnies Pavlova-Monadreen Star, May 12), owned by Miss JA Makin and trained by Ken Bebbington. The black went to traps five times in the month and was successful in A7, A6, A5 and A4.

Top bitch was Knockroe Maid (Royal Impact-Knockroe Magpie, Jun 12). Owned by Mr GM Treen and trained by Kim Billingham, the black went unbeaten from three outings during the month, (A6, A5, A4) and recently completed a 450-1 four-timer in early February.
