The big news in Ireland was the elimination at the semi final stage of the first two in the Boylesports Irish Derby betting, De Lahdedah and Coolavanny Hoffa who went in the same race. It was won by Jennifer O’Donnell’s fastest quarter final winner The Other Kobe. The first semi final went to Pat Guilfoyle’s Music Glideaway.

Elsewhere, the star of the week was Chestnut King with a new 600 yard track record at Limerick of 32.14 seven spots inside Lemon Belle’s 12 year old previous best.

Droopys Have It (2-1) turned over her more fancied Droopys Beta (4-5f) in a €5K bitch’s final at Kilkenny.
Last, but certainly not least, the fastest time of the year for the Waterford standard by John Kennedy’s 18 month old debutant Epic Chick. Seems well named.
