The fabulous Raha Mofo suggested she is in no mood to relinquish her Oaks crown with another incredible performance on Saturday night where she leapfrogged a certain Swords Rex (27.99) to produce the fastest 525 of the year to date, 27.96. That was eight of the 11 winners on the card for supersire Droopys Sydney.
The feature event on Friday was the final of the €6,500 Lee Strand 550 at Tralee which went to October pup Allowdale Icon who got home by a couple of lengths in 29.85 for the 550 yards.
On the same night, Gallant Knight landed the €3,000 Islandbridge Open Sprint over the Shelbourne 350 yard course with favourite Gizmo Cash back in third.
At Enniscorthy, the Paul Hennessy trained Dairyhill Stella was an impressive winner of the €3,000 April Unraced Stakes with four wins from her five races to date.
Puppy Kinturk Road isn’t two until September but Liam Dowling’s immaculately bred blue bitch produced the fastest 750 of the year to date at Cork, 41.84. By means of comparison, the fastest pair last year were Magical Poppy (41.56) and Hello Hammond (41.59).
