Not so much Irish Performance of the week as the Droopys Sydney Show.
At Shelbourne Park, there were the second and third fastest 550s of the year for Vincenzo (29.30) and puppy Droopys Nice One, plus a 28.10 for Coolavanny Hoffa. Other Sydney’s include October whelps Stream Of Sydney with a 28.29 at Limerick and Carrickhill Ava with the fastest 525 of the year at Mullingar.
However, in addition to Vincenzo, there were also some fine runs from two more of Pat Guilfoyle’s stars. Explosive Boy equalled Beach Avenue’s fastest 575 run of 2021, while Magical Poppy clocked the fastest 750 since Redzer Ardfert’s 40.86 back in 2019, in the second round of the Corn Cuchulainn.
At Derry, Manuone took seven spots off his own FOY for the 500 yard course. At Enniscorthy, December pup Roanna Sheiler is worthy of a mention for the fastest 525 of the week (28.74), but the Wexford POW has to be the veteran Monbeg Zinzan with the fastest 575 in almost five years.
Look out too for a fabulous run by October pup Petersburg who was just a spot off the fastest 525 of the year at Drumbo Park.
Last but not least, a sensational 28.03 for Tullig Raven on debut at Tralee. It is the joint track record with kennelmate, Ballinabola Ed.
