Good action at Shelbourne Park on Friday and Saturday night once again. The star of the Friday card was Dana Point who emphatically defended her €4,500 Shelbourne Marathon title with a 10 length win.
One night later, Bockos Leah became only the third runner this year to break 28.00 for 525 when winning a heat of the Winter Oaks. Nineteen month old puppy Crafty Kokoro gets the third nod following a 28.28 run.
At Cork, Jacob Tashadelek clocked the fastest 575 in just over two years, Lemon Moll achieved something similar for the Dundalk trip while Sparta Trojan did the quickest run for 750 at Waterford.
It is worth remembering that times are a little back at many tracks in the last couple of weeks. So although Lujaneo’s 29.04 looks a decent enough time on faster going, it actually represented the fastest time of the week at Kilkenny for the 19 month old pup.
Not that the Tralee track staff seem to be struggling. Singalong Sally followed up last week’s FOY 29.10 with a 28.15 in the Kingdom Derby semi finals.
