The Produce Stakes continues to be a great showcase for young talent and the star this week was Dog Mac Arthure, who was not only the quickest heat winner, but also the youngest. On the subject of age, puppy Riada Jet clocked the fastest sprint this year at Lifford.
The biggest final of the week was the Limerick Oaks and it went to the consistently quick Adrahan Zindi. At Newbridge it was impossible to split the two fastest winners in the Gain 550. Barefoot Painter went quickest in the 550 yard Lee Strand second round at Tralee. The stayers were again to the fore at Kilkenny where Jaytee Charlie won the fastest semi in the Weadick 725.
Fastest runs of the year usually get a shout at nomination, particularly over 525 and that honour this week goes to Longford runner Sandy Recruit. Borna Sounds did something similar at Thurles, with Burka Boy quickest over the sprint. Finally onto Waterford where Chancem clocked the fastest 575 of 2017.
